Overview
During production, after soft packs are wrapped in film and pass through the forming wheel, loose-film-pack defects often occur for a variety of reasons. This defect has long been a difficult quality problem for cigarette manufacturers. At high machine speeds, operators can hardly detect and control loose-pack defects, and defective packs frequently reach the market, damaging product reputation.
Existing mechanical and photoelectric loose-pack detectors on the market suffer from frequent false rejects, inaccuracy and insufficient detection capability, and cannot effectively solve this defect. Based on the characteristics of loose-pack defects in production, we developed, with independent intellectual property, a soft-pack loose-pack vision inspection device using image processing technology.
Equipped with2 high-speed scanning cameras, a line-shaped laser source and LED illumination, the device effectively performs online quality control of soft-pack film loose-pack defects, delivering significant practical value.
The system is already in mature use at numerous cigarette factories nationwide, installed on mainstream packaging machine models including G.D X1, X2, 2000, X500 and C600, FOCKE350 and 700, ZB45 and ZB48.
How It Works
When a pack enters the camera's field of view, the LED illumination lights the pack, the laser source scans the pack surface at extreme speed, and the high-speed scanning cameras capture images. A fiber-optic signal acquisition system detects pack arrival and signals the main control system. The captured image signals travel through dedicated data lines and an image capture card to the control system, which runs proprietary image processing software for image analysis, data computation, processing and recognition.
If a defective pack is identified, the control system sends a reject signal to the GDX1 or GDX2 manual reject line, ejecting the defective pack from the line while normal packs are unaffected. The control system also sends image data to the industrial PC so operators can configure and query the system in real time, and a human-machine interface makes it simple to adjust image-processing algorithm parameters.
