Overview
Appearance defects on soft packs have long been a difficult quality problem for cigarette manufacturers. There are two main causes: material issues that disrupt cardboard feeding, and worn or misadjusted machine parts that cause irregular cardboard folding. At high machine speeds, operators can hardly observe these defects, and defective packs frequently reach the market, damaging product reputation.
The wheel-5 detection devices currently installed on G.D X1/X2 and similar packaging machines cannot effectively solve problems such as cardboard displacement, folding and damage, due to limitations in algorithms and image processing technology.
Based on the defect types occurring at wheel 5, we developed the wheel-5 appearance vision inspection:2 high-speed color cameras with LED illumination installed at the post-wheel-5 channel, using mature high-speed image processing technology and advanced software algorithms to comprehensively detect cardboard defects and reject defective packs online, achieving online quality control of soft-pack wheel-5 cardboard.
Main Inspection Capabilities
The system accurately detects and rejects the following wheel-5 defects.
Cardboard displacement and wrinkles
Folded or missing cardboard
Wrinkled or folded aluminum foil paper
Missing aluminum foil paper
Software and Data Features
The system provides production-grade counting, statistics and traceability.
